Here is our ten-day average bathroom remodeling process from start to finish:

Step 1 - DEMO

Demolition of original bathroom begins.  All walls and ceiling are removed down to the stud.  Flooring is removed down to original subfloor.  Any rotted floor areas are completely removed and replaced.  All debris are removed.

Step 2 - ELECTRICAL

One of our skilled electricians installs the ceiling fan/light combo and ensures proper ventilation.  Vanity light circuit is installed, and this wire is left behind the wall when installing sheetrock to ensure the light is centered after the mirror is installed.

Step 3 - CARPENTRY

Our carpenter installs a new subfloor using 1/2 inch plywood under the tub and throughout the bathroom floor.  1/2 inch cement board over plywood is installed to ensure the floor will remain at the proper height, as well as adding another layer of protection.  Nailers are installed in the wall for proper installation of tub and surround.  If necessary, blocking for grab bars is installed in the wall.  New R-15 insulation in all exterior walls are installed if needed, and new R-38 is installed in the ceiling if the bathroom is located on the first floor (not required if bathroom is located on second floor.)  Size of vanity is clearly marked for the arrival of our plumber.  Medicine cabinet framing is completed if necessary.

Step 4 - PLUMBING

Our plumber replaces the previous shower valves, waste, and overflow for new Sterling tub and surround.  Feeds for the hot and cold water supply are also replaced.

Step 5 - SHEETROCK

1/2 inch moisture-resistant sheetrock is installed, and the first skim coat is applied.

Step 6 - SHEETROCK / PREPARATION FOR PAINT

Second skim coat is applied, and all areas of wall are sanded.  All walls are made ready to paint dependent on dry time.

Step 7 - PAINT

Painting is started while all materials are still out of the bathroom.  After carpenter installs trim, paint will be touched-up to ensure a consistent paint job.

Step 8 - TILE & GROUT

Installation of tile and grout is completed in the same day using rapid set (if possible.)

Step 9 - CARPENTRY

The carpenter installs vanity, vanity top, and installs all trim and baseboard throughout the bathroom.  This also includes trimming-out any windows and installing new window sills.  All accessories are installed (towel bar, towel ring, toilet paper holder, and curved curtain rod.)

Step 10 - FINISH

Plumber finishes installing all fixtures throughout bathroom.  Light fixtures, fan covers, GFCI outlets, receptacles, and switch covers are installed.  Final walkthrough of bathroom is completed to ensure every last detail has been finished.

We'll always use the best materials available for your bathroom remodel.
